About

Hello,

I'm so glad you're here! My name is Lacie Lynnae and I am a painter living and working in Tallinn, Estonia. I spend my days raising five amazing little humans and doing most of my painting after bedtimes #artistbynight. But let's catch you up to how I got to this point.

My journey into art began very early in life. Being raised by two creative parents in the middle of nowhere (rural Wyoming, USA) I had a lot of time on my hands and every opportunity to explore all my artistic whims growing up. My mom in particular had a habit of inviting us into what she was working on, so I learned everything from drawing, to stained glass to basket making and everything in between. To me, this was a completely normal childhood but I have realised it was in fact a sweet gift to teach us to create in all sorts of ways.

During secondary school I studied art formally for the first time. In those years, I was introduced to the art world by a very generous teacher who would spend her evenings and weekends taking me around museums and galleries.

As a young adult I met with some creative disappointments and setbacks and quit drawing and painting altogether for several years.

But then God...

After a lot of years of travel, reading, study, (a few kids), I started to feel a deep desire to pick up a brush again. But this time I was beginning to understand my identity in a new way. In Genesis it says, "In the beginning God created..." and a bit later that, "God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him". Say Whaaaat?! We are made in the image of that Creator! We are creative because He is creative! It's not just something I play at, it is a part of who I am and ultimately who we all are.

So in this new, exciting, journey of creating with God I said to Him "God you can have my hands, will you show me what to paint? Annnnnnd I really love big paintings, can we make big ones?"

I could tell you stories for days of all the ways God has led, provided for, nudged forward and held my hand along the way but the moral of the story is this, every single drop of creativity that I have comes from the very capable hands of a good God and it is only by His grace that I am able to use it.

Finally, not so long ago, the door opened for selling prints of my paintings. Now generally speaking I don't love technology so I was terrified as this next step! But through a series of people and circumstances God directed me to give half of everything to support the missionaries, churches, and ministries who own the original paintings. I loved this idea so deeply that it was enough to overcome any fears or hesitation I was facing.

All of this to say, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of this journey! I hope you find something that inspires you.

Be blessed,
