Fortress Fine Art Print

THE STORY...

Fortress was inspired by a very old song called "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God". The words are so beautiful but since it was written in the early 1500’s it can be a bit harder to understand.

The hymn is based on Psalm 18 which says; “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.”

A more modern song with a similar message is Battle Belongs by Phil Whickham. The bridge goes something like this “Almighty fortress, You go before us Nothing can stand against the power of our God You shine in the shadow, You win every battle”

Really the whole idea is that wheen we run to Christ we are safe. Standing on a solid rock and surrounded on all sides by a mighty fortress. It is there we can find safety, peace and rest.

THE MISSION...

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this painting goes to support AGWM/Convoy Of Hope Missionary Kirstin Edinger. Her mission is to help organize local support teams for rapid response in the event of war or natural disaster. Her work is primarily in Eastern Europe.
